Collaboration Policy

We're receiving more collaboration requests than ever before. Unfortunately, we're also seeing more companies and marketing agencies trying to dictate every aspect of what we do.

That's not happening.

We've spent enough time going back and forth with companies that expect scripts, talking points, creative control, ownership of content, endless contracts, approval rights, revisions, raw footage, and legal protections over a simple YouTube collaboration.

To save everyone time, here are our terms.

If they don't work for you, please move on.

Paid Collaborations

All collaborations are paid.

We no longer accept gifted-product-only campaigns.

The only exception is products with a retail value of approximately $5,000 or more, which we may consider reviewing at our discretion.

Creative Control

You have NONE.

We decide what we film.

We decide what we say.

We decide how it's edited.

We decide when it's published.

We decide whether we continue using the product after the collaboration.

We do not work from scripts.

We do not follow talking points.

We do not allow companies or agencies to dictate our opinions.

Contracts

If we decide to work together, you will receive our collaboration agreement.

We do not review or sign contracts supplied by companies, agencies, or third parties.

If your company requires us to work under your agreement instead of ours, we're simply not the right fit.

Content Ownership

Everything we create remains the property of Side Hustle Mowing.

We do not provide raw footage, project files, or unedited content.

Products Outside Our Industry

If your product isn't related to lawn care, landscaping, outdoor power equipment, trucks, trailers, tools, or similar products, we will not produce a dedicated video.

Products outside our industry will only be considered as sponsored segments within one of our regular videos.

Why We Operate This Way

Before YouTube, we spent more than 30 years as commercial photographers, directors, and videographers. Commercial production is our profession.

Today, Side Hustle Mowing is different.

We're retired from commercial production. We now run a small mom-and-pop lawn care business, and this YouTube channel is something we do because we genuinely enjoy it. We film around our customers, test products in the real world, and share our honest opinions. That's what makes this channel fun for us, and that's what our audience enjoys watching.

Don't get us wrong—we're easy to work with.

If you have a product launch or a preferred publication window, we'll do our best to accommodate it whenever possible. We understand that timing can be important.

What we're not interested in is turning a simple YouTube collaboration into a full commercial production.

When agencies expect scripts, production meetings, approvals, revisions, legal oversight, creative control, ownership rights, and lengthy contracts over a three- or four-minute sponsored segment, it stops being fun and starts becoming the commercial production business we retired from.

Many companies continue asking for these terms because they've found creators willing to accept them. In our opinion, many creators don't fully understand the true marketing value of the content they're producing, and some companies and agencies have learned to take advantage of that.

That won't happen here.

We don't charge commercial production rates for our YouTube collaborations because this channel isn't a commercial production business. It's something we enjoy doing.

However, if your company requires the level of oversight, planning, approvals, revisions, and control associated with a professional commercial production, we're happy to provide that service.

Our commercial production work starts at $10,000 per day.

Otherwise, our YouTube collaborations are produced our way.

Simple.

Authentic.

Real-world.

If that works for your company, we'd love to hear from you.

If it doesn't, we respectfully ask that you move on and find a creator whose business model better matches your expectations.
